Through the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in our curriculum, we provide students with a broad range of digital tools and platforms that enhance their learning experiences across various subjects. Our approach ensures that every student not only becomes proficient in using technology but also learns to navigate the digital world responsibly and creatively.

Innovative Maker Education at Poi Ching School
At Poi Ching School, our Maker Education programme equips students with essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration through a dynamic mix of digital and analogue activities. By fostering a hands-on learning environment, we empower students to become confident, innovative problem-solvers prepared for the future. Through engaging projects, students develop the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

The different stages of thinking are introduced through Maker Education activities, using the Design Thinking Process and a spiral approach.
Hands-On Analogue Activities
Our students dive into engaging STEM challenges that make complex concepts come to life, including:
Hands-On Analogue Activities
Bridge Building with Legos (P1) | Students experiment and build a bridge across a ‘river’ that can support a specific amount of weight. |
Build-A-Boat Project (P3) | Students build boats using recycled materials, exploring how objects float and understanding the importance of sustainability. |
Parachute Design Challenge ( P4) | Students make parachutes using appropriate materials that can stay in the air for the longest possible time, encouraging problem-solving and new ideas. |
These activities are enhanced with digital tools like SLS and Padlet, allowing students to document, collaborate, and reflect on their learning journeys.

Digital Tool Activities
Students to the world of LEGO Spike, where they experience hands-on robotics and basic programming. This initiative encourages physical engagement, cognitive growth, and essential skills like teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving.
Cyberwellness@PCS
The school is dedicated to teaching students how to navigate cyberspace responsibly. From Primary 3 to Primary 6, students participate in a termly CyberWellness programme aligned with the Ministry of Education's CyberWellness framework. Through this, students learn online safety, respect, and responsibility. The curriculum is divided into four parts:
Tier 1 provides lessons for all students,
Tier 2 trains CyberWellness Ambassadors to lead activities,
Tier 3 involves parents through lessons and outreach, and
Tier 4 offers support to students in need with the help of counselors and the discipline committee.
