Learn about Home-Based Learning (HBL) and how parents/guardians can support their child’s/ward's learning and well-being at home.
Home-Based Learning (HBL)
During the HBL period, parents/guardians are encouraged to keep your child/ward at home where possible. HBL activities may take various forms, including e-lessons conducted through the Student Learning Space (SLS), as well as learning activities using worksheets, textbooks and other learning resources.
Providing a Conducive Learning Environment
We encourage parents/guardians to support your child/ward’s learning by providing:
Sufficient space on the table for the learning device and other learning materials.
A comfortable chair that allows your child/ward to maintain a proper sitting posture.
A quiet environment with adequate ventilation and lighting.
Supporting Your Child/Ward
Parents/guardians can support your child/ward during HBL by:
Working out a daily schedule or routine together with your child/ward.
Establishing an agreement on screen time and scheduling regular off-screen breaks to rest the eyes.
Encouraging your child/ward to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook towards learning.
Reminding your child/ward to log in to SLS according to the timings assigned to their respective levels.
Monitoring your child/ward’s well-being and online activities.
Encouraging good sleeping and waking habits throughout the HBL period.
