Chinese Opera

Chinese opera (Chinese: 戏曲/戲曲; Pinyin: xìqǔ) is a popular form of drama and musical theatre in China with roots going back as far as the third century cerium. There are numerous regional branches of Chinese opera, of which the Beijing opera (Jingju) is one of the most notable. Being a SAP school, we practise and performance in Chinese Lauguage.

Poi Ching School Chinese Opera CCA cooperated with Chinese Opera Institute ( http://www.chineseoperainstitute.com.sg/ ) in Singapore since 2007. Children can learn more about Chinese culture including folk legend and history from diffent dynasty. Chinese Opera helps in improving our children’s physicality, staging, training, specific genres, character types and music, concentration as well as the control emotions. Through the practice of the Chinese Opera, childrens’ self-confidence and self-discipline should be enhanced. Meanwhile, they should be more excellent not only for behavior manner but also in their studies.
